Frequently asked questions

If you have any questions and you have not found any answers on this page, do not hesitate to get in touch with me using the contact form.

It is quite easy! You just need to book a trial lesson by selecting the date and time that fits you best here. You can also book lessons directly by buying one of the lesson packs for any of my courses, which you can find out more about here.

The trial lesson is free and lasts for about 30 minutes. In this meeting we will get to know each other, and we will discuss your needs and goals as well as the time schedule that works best for you.

I will also explain to you how my lessons work, and I will evaluate your level in Spanish to see where we can start off. The trial lesson takes place on Zoom, and you can book the date and time here.

My classes are designed for adults and follow a different structure depending on the course that you take. Lessons for the Spanish General Course and DELE Preparation Course (Diploma de Español como Lengua extranjera) last for 55 minutes, whereas the Conversation Course will be 40 minutes long.

This is what you need to know about how my classes work:

  • We will work together following a communicative approach. That means you will have a leading role in class, and we will focus on all four language skills (listening, writing, reading, and speaking) as well as your pronunciation. In the Conversation Course, however, we will mostly work on your speaking skills.
  • Lessons are tailored for you according to your needs and interests.
  • We will only speak Spanish in class, but we can occasionally switch to English to explain a particular word or grammar point whenever you need it.
  • We will use a wide variety of learning materials (audiovisual content, graded readers…) that will help you learn Spanish in a natural way and gain a native insight into our culture. The books that we are going to use follow the guidelines described by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) for all six reference levels: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2.

Due to the methodology that I use and how I organise my classes, I only teach Spanish to adults.

We will have the lessons on Zoom, as this platform has some interesting tools, such as a digital blackboard, that will enable us to have a great one-on-one interaction and enjoy the class in a professional environment.

I usually teach private classes, as this is a great way for you to make the most of your time and it enables me to focus solely on you and solve all the questions or problems you may have.

However, I am also open to the possibility of teaching small groups if you want to take the lessons with a friend or a family member.

You can pay for the classes via paypal, with debit/credit card or via bank transfer. Once you have decided which course you would like to take with me, you just need to go to Spanish Classes, choose your course and your lesson pack.

All lessons must be paid in advance and can be rescheduled, but your money will not be refunded.

Everybody learns at a different pace, so there is not a magic formula that tells you how much time it will take. However, if you come to class frequently, you invest some time studying what we learned in class, and you keep motivated, I bet you will improve in no time 😊.

I will help you throughout the whole learning process and I will do my best to make sure you reach your goals within the time you had expected. If, for example, you want to take the DELE exam on a specific date, we will work side by side to get you there as well prepared as possible and have plenty of exam practice.

Yes! You just need to tell me with 24 hours’ notice prior to the time and date of our meeting. That way we can reschedule the class for another day and time; whenever it suits you better.

I would also appreciate it if you could drop me an email at espanolfromhome@gmail.com with your name, date, and time of the class that you would like to cancel.

Yes! If you arrive late to class, we will start when you enter the meeting, and we will finish at the estimated time.

If for some reason you know that you will not make it to class, the best thing you can do is let me know so that we can reschedule the class for another time. However, if you tell me with less than 24 hours’ notice, you will not get your money refunded.

Lesson packs can be used whenever you prefer as they do not expire 😊. However, it would be best if you could use them within a span of three months.
